Connecting different ChiaoGoo threads with adapters
Stainless steel ChiaoGoo adapters allow larger-thread interchangeable needle tips to be connected to smaller-thread cables:
- S–M adapter connects S-thread needle tips to an M (MINI) cable;
- L–S adapter connects L-thread needle tips to an S cable.
Important: the adapters work only when connecting larger-thread needle tips to smaller-thread cables. Smaller-thread needle tips cannot be connected to larger-thread cables.
ChiaoGoo thread sizes
- M (MINI) – fits 1.5–2.5 mm needle tips (10 and 13 cm) and 1.5–3.25 mm tips (8 cm);
- S (Small) – fits 2.75–5.0 mm needle tips (10 and 13 cm) and 3.5–5.0 mm tips (8 cm);
- L (Large) – fits 5.5–10.0 mm needle tips (10 and 13 cm).
TWIST and SPIN threads of the same size are compatible with each other. MINI products are not directly compatible with S or L threads, so the appropriate adapter is required.
The 10 and 13 cm MINI needle tips are too long for use with 5, 13 or 15 cm MINI cables. A MINI cable connector can be used to extend a cable.
Exception: ChiaoGoo MINI SHORTIES 1.5–3.25 mm needle tips are compatible only with MINI-thread products.
