If you are looking for a yarn that is fluffy, warm and completely non-irritating to the skin, Drops AIR is your dream come true. The name ”Air” describes this yarn perfectly - it's about 30-35% lighter than regular yarns of the same weight.
What makes Drops AIR so special?
- Innovative ”Blown Yarn” technology: instead of twisting the fibres, manufacturers ”blow" alpaca and merino wool into a thin polyamide tube in a special way. This allows the volume and fluffiness of the yarn to be maintained, but eliminates weight.
- The combination of 65% alpaca wool, merino wool and polyamide guarantees luxurious warmth and softness, the right amount of shape stability and elasticity to suit even the most sensitive.
- Versatile thickness: although the yarn looks thick and fluffy, it is knitted with medium sized cables (5 mm), which makes it quick to work and gives a very modern look.
- Knit texture: air creates a smooth, slightly fluffy surface that looks great with smooth knitting as well as chunky braids or textured patterns.
What to knit or crochet?
It's the ideal choice for oversized sweaters, cosy cardigans, fluffy scarves and hats. Because the yarn is very soft, it can be worn directly on the body.
Care
Hand wash only (max 30 degrees) and dry flat. Suitable for piercing.

This yarn is Oeko-Tex® certified (certificate number 22.HPE.07484), which meets the requirements of Standard 100 and is class I by the Hohenstein Institute. This means that the product has been tested for the absence of harmful substances and is considered to be safe from a human ecological point of view. Class I is the highest level, confirming that the yarn is suitable for baby products (0-3 years).
