Drops ANDES is one of the favourite choices among knitters who appreciate naturalness, quality and fast results. It is an extra thick, double-stranded yarn spun from a classic combination of 65% Highland sheep's wool and 35% superfine alpaca wool.

The composition is not accidental - alpaca wool gives it a silky softness and luxurious feel against the body, while sheep wool ensures the knit's stability, shape retention and durability.

Exceptional features

  • Natural purity: the yarn fibre is not chemically treated before dyeing. This means that the wool retains its best natural qualities, breathes better and has an excellent texture.
  • Style in a short time: In the Super Bulky (Group E) category, this yarn allows you to see progress in an instant. This is ideal for those who don't like to spend months on a single project - a hat or scarf can be knitted in one evening.
  • Vivid texture: the twisting of the two filaments creates a clear, embossed image. Whether you're knitting with simple perfect stitches or intricate weaves, each stitch will look expressive and neat.
  • Warmth guarantee: thanks to its thickness and alpaca additive, Drops ANDES is one of the warmest yarns in the range, ideally suited for harsh winters.

 What do we recommend knitting?

Due to their thickness and fall, these yarns are at their best in the following projects:

  • Chunky accessories: chunky snood scarves, thick hats with tassels or cosy gloves.
  • Modern clothes: The popular oversized sweaters, chunky vests or long cardigans that can replace a coat in early autumn.
  • Home cosiness: extra-warm throws or cushions.
  • Felting: drops ANDES is ideal for felting. You can create very sturdy slippers or baskets.

 Useful tips

  • Choice of bobbin: Although the manufacturer recommends 9 mm bobbins, looser knitters can choose 7-8 mm for a denser knit and better wind protection.
  • Care: As it is a natural, non-chemically treated fibre, it is recommended to hand wash only in cool water (up to 30°C) using a wool detergent. Dry horizontally on the flat side to prevent stretching.

Drops ANDES is an investment in quality that you will feel with every touch. Let yourself enjoy the process and the result! Tested by ourselves :)
