DROPS Kid-Silk
DROPS Kid-Silk – an exceptionally light and airy yarn made from 75% super kid mohair and 25% mulberry silk. It gives projects a soft halo, lightness and subtle sheen, making it ideal for shawls, jumpers, tops and accessories.
How to use
- work with one or several strands;
- hold together with another yarn for a soft, fluffy texture;
- make lightweight yet warm garments and accessories.
Technical details and care
Each 25 g ball contains approximately 210 m. The manufacturer recommends 3.5 mm needles, although the right size depends on the pattern and desired fabric. The mohair comes from South Africa and the silk from China.
The yarn is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Class II, for products with extensive direct skin contact. This does not guarantee an individual skin response: sensitive skin may notice the mohair fibres, so knit and test a swatch first. Hand wash at up to 30 °C and dry flat.
