Description

Non-slip latex for sock and slipper soles

Rico Design Sock Stop is intended for creating a non-slip coating on textiles. It can be applied to the soles of handmade socks, knitted slippers or felted items to make them more practical on smooth surfaces. The product is suitable for wool, felt and synthetic fabrics.

The latex can be applied in a chosen pattern only to the areas of the sole that need additional grip. This lets you adapt the non-slip coating to the shape and size of the specific item.

How to use it?

  1. Insert a piece of cardboard cut to shape into the sock or slipper. It will help the item keep its shape and protect the other layer of fabric.
  2. Apply the product to the outside of the sole in your chosen pattern.
  3. Leave the coated item to dry for about 10–12 hours and make sure the coating is completely dry before use.

Volume and care

The bottle contains 50 ml. The manufacturer states that coated textiles can be washed at up to 40 °C. Also check the care label on the socks or slippers: if it specifies a lower temperature, follow the lower limit.

Before starting, test the product on a small, less visible area of the textile. This will let you assess the appearance of the coating and how it adheres to the particular material. Also read the use and safety instructions on the packaging before use.
