DROPS ANDES bulky wool and alpaca yarn
DROPS ANDES is a bulky two-ply yarn made from 65% wool and 35% alpaca. Wool adds structure and elasticity, while alpaca adds loft and extra warmth. With 90 m in each 100 g ball, projects grow quickly, making this yarn suitable for chunky winter garments and home textiles.
What can you knit?
- bulky jumpers, cardigans and waistcoats;
- hats, scarves, cowls and mittens;
- cosy blankets and decorative cushions;
- felted slippers, bags and other projects that hold their shape.
Knitting and crochet
The two-strand construction clearly defines cables, ribs and other textured patterns. Recommended needle or hook size is 7–9 mm, with an approximate tension of 10 stitches and 14 rows per 10 × 10 cm. Choose the exact tool size according to the pattern and a washed tension swatch.
A large, warm and generously sized scarf requires approximately five balls, although the amount depends on the chosen stitch pattern, size and tension.
Care
The manufacturer recommends hand washing at up to 30°C. Do not bleach or tumble dry; dry flat. When felting, follow the instructions for the specific pattern.
