DROPS Daisy – merino wool yarn
DROPS Daisy is a soft 100% extrafine merino wool yarn without Superwash treatment. Its four-strand construction adds elasticity and clearly defines cables, textured stitches and moss stitch.
Key details
- Composition – 100% merino wool from South America.
- A 50 g ball contains approximately 110 m of yarn.
- Recommended needle size is 4 mm; approximate tension is 21 stitches and 28 rows per 10 × 10 cm.
- The wool is not Superwash treated: the fibre is only washed before dyeing.
- OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Class I certification indicates suitability for baby products from 0 to 3 years.
- The manufacturer states that the merino wool comes from free-range, mulesing-free sheep.
Uses and care
The yarn suits finer jumpers, cardigans, hats, scarves and textured patterns. The manufacturer notes that fine fibres are more sensitive to friction, so a more durable yarn is preferable for sportswear or heavily worn jumpers. Wool feels different to each person; for sensitive skin, knit and wash a swatch before starting.
