DROPS PUNA – light and warm alpaca yarn
DROPS PUNA is a four-ply DROPS yarn made from 100% alpaca. The light, warm and smooth strand suits garments and accessories where natural fibres and clear stitch definition matter.
What makes DROPS PUNA special?
- Natural texture: the fibre is only washed before dyeing and receives no additional chemical treatment, helping preserve the characteristic alpaca texture.
- Warmth without weight: alpaca provides warmth without making the finished garment heavy.

Project ideas
DROPS PUNA is suitable for jumpers, scarves, hats, vests and cosy blankets. Fibre sensitivity varies, so knit and wash a swatch before making a garment that will be worn next to the skin.
Tip
A 100% alpaca strand is less elastic than sheep’s wool. For large or heavier projects, choose a suitable tension and assess the washed swatch to reduce stretching under the garment’s own weight.
