DROPS Baby Merino
DROPS Baby Merino – 100% extrafine merino wool yarn spun from the wool of free-range, mulesing-free sheep in South America. Its fine, elastic fibres suit smooth stitch patterns, knitting and crochet. The Superwash treatment makes everyday knits easier to care for.
What is it suitable for?
- Baby and children’s garments, hats, blankets and accessories.
- Lightweight adult jumpers, tops, waistcoats and dresses.
- Projects that call for smooth stitch definition and an elastic fabric.
- Held together with DROPS Kid-Silk it creates a light, fluffy halo.
Working details
Each ball contains 50 g / approx. 175 m. The manufacturer recommends 3 mm needles; a 10 × 10 cm swatch requires 24 stitches and 32 rows. Knit and wash a swatch before starting to choose the correct tension.
Care
Machine wash on a gentle cycle at up to 40°C. Do not use fabric softener; dry flat.
Certification and origin
The yarn is made in the EU from wool originating in South America. DROPS Baby Merino is certified to OEKO‑TEX® STANDARD 100, certificate no. 25.3.0110, Class I, issued by INNOVATEXT TEXTILE ENGINEERING AND TESTING in Hungary. Class I covers products for babies aged 0–3 years. Because sensitivity to wool varies, always knit and wash a swatch before making a baby garment.
