Etrofil Shetland – wool yarn for traditional and everyday knitting
Etrofil Shetland is a fine 100% Shetland wool yarn for light, warm garments and clearly defined patterns. It works well in classic stockinette, cables, stranded colourwork and other textured designs.
What makes Shetland wool distinctive?
Shetland wool comes from the Shetland sheep breed, which originated in the Shetland Islands. The fibre is valued for warmth, durability and clear stitch definition. It is traditionally used for Fair Isle colourwork, lightweight lace and multicoloured knitting. The name “Shetland wool” refers primarily to the sheep breed and does not by itself specify where the yarn was spun.
